As you are planning your wedding, what all do you have on your list of things that you can rent?

Limo? Tuxedos? Charis and Table? Cake?

Wait a minute.... The cake? It appears that there is a trend now to rent cakes. As strange as it sounds, they really aren't renting REAL cakes, they are renting fake wedding cakes. I had heard about selling fake cakes, and honestly I don't understand how selling a fake cake is cheaper. The cost of a wedding cake is in the time it takes to decorate it. The actual cake isn't that expensive (don't believe me, walk down the baking isle at the store and price out cake mixes). However, with the concept of renting a fake cake, you can bring the price down. You decorate a wedding cake once and then you rent that to brides for their wedding reception. After the reception, they return it to you, touch it up, and rent it out again. Cake rental is a win-win proposition.
